Recently DJ Chris had the pleasure of performing at our first wedding at the North Carolina Arboretum…….and was impressed. That is quite the accomplishment for a DJ with 16 years experience.
The wedding reception was held in the open air amphitheater, which is the perfect location for wedding ceremony’s with 40 to 150 guests. The setting is very tranquil and worth every penny and highly recommended. This does come with one caveat as the amphitheater is open air and weather does play a part in how the ceremony will go. As an experienced DJ professional, we do suggest that you have an alternate plan for the wedding ceremony plan just in case the weather doesn’t behave.
The reception was held at the Baker center (just a short walk from the amphitheater) and was just as impressive with it’s two levels, nice floor layout, and massive fireplace. Just a perfect setting to enjoy this special day with family and friends and one we highly recommend. As with must public forums though, receptions are not allowed to start until after 5 (once the hall is closed to the public) and that has to be included in your scheduling.
We highly recommend the Arboretum and if you would like to learn more about their Green Weddings please visit the N.C. Arboretum .

I know times are tough…..but the disappointment may be worse. While some DJ’s are generally very inexpensive….sometimes this low fee comes with a cost. The DJ may have a very limited music collection (you should aim for the DJ to have a minimum of 10,000 songs in his library) or his system may be nothing more than a home stereo (I have actually witnessed this). Remember that a DJ is a business with overhead expenses with basic music collections and equipment running about $15,000. So just do the math….if a DJ is offering to do your event for $150 then somewhere they are going to come up short in the equipment or music selection area.
